Short-Term and Emergency Housing

Hastings County Community and Human Services (Bancroft office) — 1P Manor Lane, Suite 3, Level 2, Bancroft. Phone: 613-332-3410, toll-free 1-866-569-1941. Ontario Works, emergency assistance, and subsidized housing applications. Also the intake point for the Coordinated Access System for homelessness support.

Overnight Shelter (Bancroft, 33 Bridge Street East) — operated by Hastings County in partnership with the Town of Bancroft. Safe, heated overnight space for people experiencing homelessness or at risk in extreme cold. Six beds, shower program, light refreshments, warm breakfast, and a system navigator on-site. Call Hastings County Community and Human Services for access.

Grace Inn Shelter (Belleville, for after-hours referrals) — 315 Church Street, Belleville. 613-966-2898. After-hours homelessness assistance line: 1-877-528-9514, available 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. Monday to Friday and anytime on weekends and holidays.

North Hastings Community Trust — advocates for affordable housing and provides financial assistance to low-income residents for items such as rent, appliances, and emergency food. North Hastings line: 613-339-1100. northhastingscommunitytrust.org.

Counselling and Mental Health Services

CMHA Hastings Prince Edward, Bancroft Office — 1 Manor Lane, Suite 101/201, Bancroft. Mental health case management, counselling and treatment, substance use community treatment, rapid access addiction medicine (RAAM), and emergency room diversion. Referrals through AccessMHA at accessmha.ca.

Peer Support South East Ontario — free peer support for people 16 and over experiencing substance use or mental health challenges. A Bancroft location is included. Walk-ins welcome, no referral required. psseo.ca.
