Final Week – 4th Annual Birch Bark Canoe Build & Raffle.

By Rob

Sarah Stringer Vance is doing an incredible job documenting the Algonquin canoe build with photos and valuable insights into this important tradition happening now at the Bancroft North Hastings Heritage Museum. Be sure to follow along at

The annual birchbark canoe build showcases the enduring skill of our craftspeople, celebrates our deep connection to the land and inspires that connection in others. It is a cornerstone community activity where we share our rich history, tell our unique stories and teach youth the lessons passed down to us.

Building something together provides us with an opportunity to build new friendships and engage with the broader community.
