The annual birchbark canoe build showcases the enduring skill of our craftspeople, celebrates our deep connection to the land and inspires that connection in others. It is a cornerstone community activity where we share our rich history, tell our unique stories and teach youth the lessons passed down to us.

Building something together provides us with an opportunity to build new friendships and engage with the broader community.

Tickets for the 4th Annual Birch Bark Canoe Raffle are still available. Get yours at the Bancroft North Hastings Heritage Museum canoe build site or drop in to our office at 24 Flint Ave., Bancroft, Ontario.

$20.00 per ticket

The canoe build wraps up on Friday, August 23rd. There will be a launch ceremony and potluck feast to close out the build from 11:00 a.m. – 2:OO p.m. at Riverside Park. Please bring a chair, a pot luck dish to share, your feast kits (plate, bowl, cutlery, drinking glass) and come celebrate with the canoe builders!
